The experience

Follow a passionate truffle expert in an exciting and instructive Truffle Hunt surrounded by the green woods of Umbria!

Our truffle hunter will show you how to find truffles walking through the woods, how to use them in the best way, offering you all the secrets, and furthermore how to cook and enjoy them.

It will start in the morning at the Tili Winery. From there, together with a truffle hunter, we will enjoy a walk in a wood with trained dogs hunting the so called black diamond of Umbria, truffle. 

You’ll spend the morning discovering this ancient and typical Umbrian art and then we’ll go back to the winery to taste this precious ingredient in different traditional dishes paired with organic wines. 

The sensorial experiences provides the departure from Tili Winery in Assisi, a private truffle hunt with a personal hunter and his dog, a guided visit of the winery, followed by a lunch tasting of four different courses with 5 organic wines and typical dishes dressed with the truffle found in the morning.

The price varies depending on the type of truffle because in the period from May to September there is the Summer Black Truffle or Scorzone while in the period between October and April is collected only the Winter Black Truffle, which is much more valuable and expensive than the Summer Truffle.

Please note: 

We walk in the countryside so you need shoes suitable for that (runners are ok) and a rain jacket in the case of little rain. 

Please let us know if you are unable to walk on uneven terrain, we will walk for about 1h – 1h30 in the wood, or if you have any special dietary requirement (e.g. vegetarian, allergies…). 

If we have bad weather we will be in touch to make sure you are still up for it or if it’s possible, we can offer to change it to a Cooking lesson where you will learn how to cook and use the truffle in typical Umbrian dishes following a lunch tasting of 4 courses. If the cooking class is not possible, we can offer to change with another activity or tasting less expensive and refund the price difference or in last chance the total refund.
